About Bailieborough
Bailieborough was built around 1835. It has a hall-and-tower form with a three-bay nave under a pitched slate roof. Notable features include a three-stage tower, stained-glass windows, crenellated parapets and pinnacles. The church stands in its own graveyard.
History
Replacing an earlier church to the north-west, this structure was not consecrated until 1843, seven years after its construction around 1835. It was probably designed by William Farrell and built with funding from the Board of First Fruits. The two-bay transept and vestry were added c.1865 by Welland & Gillespie. A parochial hall to the west was built c.1871.
