About Annalong Presbyterian Church

Annalong Presbyterian Church is a congregation of the Presbyterian Church in Ireland in Newry, County Down.

History

The congregation was established in 1840 and the Meeting House was ready for use by 1842. Rev Samuel Burnside served as the first minister, from 1840 until 1887.

A new suite of halls was completed in 1997 to accommodate the congregation's Sunday School and youth work.

The building

The Meeting House stands on an elevated site in Annalong village, on the main Newcastle to Kilkeel road. It faces the sea on one side, with the Mourne Mountains to the rear.
