About Trinity Presbyterian Church
Trinity Presbyterian Church was built in 1861 in the Gothic Revival style. It has a cruciform plan. Notable features include an internal gallery, an open timber roof and window tracery.
The building
Designed by English architect J. Tarring, this ashlar limestone structure sits on an elevated site with a stone plinth wall and railings. It features a broach spire, buttresses, and large window openings with delicate tracery and carved stone. The slate pitched roof covers a cruciform plan with shallow transepts. Inside, a gallery rests on foliated iron brackets beneath an open timber roof with carved stone supports.
