History

The parish was established in 1972, having formerly been part of the parish of Chapelizod. It lies in the Maynooth deanery. Palmerstown itself is bordered to the north by the river Liffey, to the west by Lucan, to the south by Ballyfermot and to the east by Chapelizod.
