About St. Mary
St. Mary was completed in 1830. It has a cruciform plan with a two-bay nave and rendered walls under a pitched slate roof. Notable features include a three-stage tower with an octagonal spire, stained-glass windows, an internal gallery and window tracery.
History
Lewis recorded in 1837 that a residence for the priest was attached to the church. The interior was later reordered in accordance with the liturgical reforms of the Second Vatican Council, while a Classical-style reredos remains in the sanctuary.
