About St. Joseph’ Church, Toomevara
St. Joseph’ Church, Toomevara was built around 1815. It has a T-shaped plan with a three-bay nave and rendered walls under a pitched artificial slate roof. Notable features include stained-glass windows, an internal gallery and window tracery.
Notable features
The interior includes a stepped Composite reredos with advanced columns and pilasters supporting an entablature. One window is dated 1933 and signed Earley, Dublin, providing a documented maker and date for part of the church’s decorative glazing.
