About Slane St Patrick
Slane St Patrick was built in 1797. It has a cruciform plan with a three-bay nave, built of stone under a pitched slate roof. Notable features include a bell tower and pinnacles.
The building
The church features a four-stage bell tower with a pointed-arch entrance, chamfered limestone surround, and date plaque reading M.DCC.XCVII. A stone door surround from Stackallan Church, demolished in 1959, is incorporated into the structure. The vestry contains medieval fragments, while the nave and chancel display Diocletian and round-headed windows. The site includes a graveyard bounded by rubble stone walls and cast-iron gates.
