About Portlaoise Methodist Church
Portlaoise Methodist Church was built in 1883 in the Gothic Revival style. The church is built of limestone. Notable features include buttressed walls and lancet windows.
History
Designed by architect Fredrick Morley in the Early English style, the church was built in 1883. It replaced an earlier church located on the west side of Church Street. The building is situated on a D-shaped plot on the corner of Railway Street, opposite the station, and its style complements the nearby Tudor Gothic railway station.
