About Our Lady Queen of Martyrs Oratory
Our Lady Queen of Martyrs Oratory was built between 1904 and 1905. It has a simple single-cell form and rendered walls under a pitched slate roof. Notable features include stained-glass windows.
History
Designed in 1904 by William Henry Byrne and Son of Dublin, this oratory was erected by Walter Heneghan of Louisburgh. It succeeded an earlier chapel built of loose stones. The structure was extended in 1962, altering its original four-bay single-storey composition.
