About New Mossley Presbyterian Church

New Mossley Presbyterian Church is a congregation of the Presbyterian Church in Ireland in Newtownabbey, County Antrim.

History

The congregation began as a church extension charge on 30 November 1980, meeting in a portacabin known as the wooden hut, and the first service was held in those temporary premises the same day. The present church building was officially opened in September 1983.

After 25 years as a church extension charge, the congregation was granted permission by the General Assembly of 2005 to be fully established, and was fully established on 27 November 2005 to coincide with its 25th anniversary. Six elders were appointed in April 2006.
