History
An Anglican church has stood at Church Place, on the historic Fair Green at the head of the town, since 1725. The present church was built in response to the Ulster Revival of 1859, which brought a sharp increase in the number of worshippers, and opened in 1863.
The church is known as 'The Big Church'. The diocese describes it as reputed to be the largest parish church on the island of Ireland.
