What the church's page says
A midweek Eucharist is held on Wednesdays at 10.00 am, led by Revd Dean Paul Draper, offering a quiet opportunity for worship and reflection. On the first Sunday of each month, Revd Dean Paul Draper leads the Eucharist at 8.30 am. Services are also held each Sunday at 11.00 am, with worship varying between the Eucharist, Service of the Word and Cathedral Prayers. Further weekday prayers take place on Fridays at 9.30 am.
About Lismore (St Carthage's Cathedral)
Lismore (St Carthage's Cathedral) was built in 1811. It has a three-bay nave, built of rubble stone under a pitched slate roof. Notable features include a two-stage tower with a spire, stained-glass windows, crenellated parapets and pinnacles.
History
The site has seen continuous ecclesiastical presence since Saint Carthagh founded a church, monastery, and school there in 635. The current cathedral, built in 1811, incorporates fabric from earlier structures, including a nave dating to c.1675 and a chancel from 1630. It was renovated in 1827, when a tower with a polygonal spire was added to the west end.
