About Larne Baptist Church
Larne Baptist Church is a Baptist church in Larne, County Antrim, a member of the Association of Baptist Churches in Ireland.
History
The church began in 1955. After one year it purchased a site on Grammar Brae, where the Forbes Memorial Hall, a temporary wooden structure, was erected and officially opened on 6 April 1957. The site was sold to the Grammar School in 1963, when the church moved to Craigyhill. A permanent building was completed in 1978, and in 2003/4 the building was renovated and an extension added.
Work was begun and churches established at Glenarm in 1976 and at Whitehead in 1987. The church marked fifty years in April 2005 with a week of special meetings.
