About Larah (Laragh)
Larah (Laragh) was built in 1832 in the Gothic Revival style. It has a three-bay nave and rendered walls under a pitched slate roof. Notable features include stained-glass windows, a bellcote and crenellated parapets.
History
The church was designed by diocesan architect William Farrell, who likely also designed the churches at Drung and Dernakesh. It probably replaced a medieval church at or near the site, as suggested by the older graveyard and gate to the north. The building is located on rising ground that falls away to the south-east.
