About Greenisland Baptist Church
Greenisland Baptist Church is a Baptist church in Carrickfergus, County Antrim, a member of the Association of Baptist Churches in Ireland.
History
The congregation traces its origins to a group of eight people who began praying for the area in 1996. The church records that it first met for Sunday worship in October 1996, and that seven people signed the covenant constituting the church on 1 December 1996. Further members joined in the months that followed.
The congregation met in a couple of temporary locations before acquiring premises of its own, which after 15 years were redeveloped into the present building.
