About Farnaught
Farnaught was built in 1853 in the Gothic Revival style. It has a five-bay nave, built of stone under a pitched slate roof. Notable features include a three-stage tower, stained-glass windows, buttressed walls and lancet windows.
History
Built in 1853 by architect Joseph Welland for the Clements family, this Church of Ireland church stands on the Lough Rynn Estate. The site has been in religious use for centuries, evidenced by pre-1700 grave markers in the adjacent graveyard. The earliest visible date on a marker is 1814.
