About Cloneyhurke (Garryhinch)
Cloneyhurke (Garryhinch) was built around 1820. It has a four-bay nave, built of squared limestone under a pitched slate roof. Notable features include a bell tower, an internal gallery, pinnacles and window tracery. It was designed by John Semple.
The building
This Church of Ireland structure, designed by John Semple as a Board of First Fruits church, stands on an elevated site overlooking Garryhinch Crossroads in Co. Meath. The exterior features squared limestone walls with ashlar buttresses, a castellated tower with pinnacles, and cast-iron windows with intersecting tracery. Internally, original fittings including pews, a pulpit, and a prayer table survive, alongside a timber gallery to the east.
