About Caheragh St Mary (Corliss)
Caheragh St Mary (Corliss) was built in 1829. It has a cruciform plan with a three-bay nave, built of rubble stone under a pitched slate roof. Notable features include stained-glass windows, a bellcote and crenellated parapets.
The building
The church features a three-bay double-height nave with a west porch and vestries on the north and south transept elevations. Openings include pointed arches with stone sills, voussoirs, and lattice work tracery, alongside square-headed windows in the vestries. The site is enclosed by rubble stone walls with cast-iron gates and an entrance path flanked by mature Yew trees.
