About Ballymore Eustace St John
Ballymore Eustace St John dates from 1820. It has a single-cell plan with a three-bay nave and rendered walls under a pitched slate roof. Notable features include a three-stage tower, stained-glass windows, mosaic work and crenellated parapets.
History
Consecrated in 1822, this Church of Ireland church in Co. Kildare received financial support from the Board of First Fruits. It was extended in 1894 to designs by James Franklin Fuller, with works funded by the Honourable Charles Frederick Crichton in memory of his parents. The surrounding churchyard contains the remains of an earlier church and numerous ancient tombstones.
