About Ballylinney Presbyterian Church
Ballylinney Presbyterian Church is a congregation of the Presbyterian Church in Ireland in Ballyclare, County Antrim.
History
The congregation's published chronology begins in 1840, when Ballylinney was placed in Carrickfergus Presbytery. The first elders were ordained in 1842. A manse was built on Hillhead Road in 1883, and the first organ was installed in the church in 1923.
Electric heating and lighting were installed in 1956, and land was bought for a car park in 1961. In 1966 stables were converted to enlarge the hall and kitchen and to provide toilets. A new hall was opened in 1977, and in 1997 a further suite of halls was opened adjoining it, on the site of the older halls. A Millennium Wood was established in 2000.
