About Knock Shrine (Basilica of Our Lady, Queen of Ireland)
Knock Shrine is Ireland's National Marian Shrine, visited by Pope John Paul II in 1979 and Pope Francis in 2018. It commemorates the 1879 apparition of the Virgin Mary, St Joseph, St John the Evangelist, and the Lamb of God. Over 1.5 million pilgrims visit annually.
